Simply Shakespeare

     Learn to be simple, direct, & truthful: your performance will be powerful.
David Speck co-founded Poulsbo’s Jewel Box Theater. He was artistic director for ten years.
Tuition: $100/eight week session. Local thespian discount: $50  for anyone who has participated (onstage or off) in any local theater production.

Kurt Beattie, the award-winning Artistic Director at ACT Theatre in Seattle presents a Workshop for Directors at The Chameleon. (The date and time TBA - notice will go out in the newspaper, and on the Bareboard’s virtual A & E list.)
A unique and rare opportunity to learn from a pro.  Seating is limited.
KURT BEATTIE (ACT Artistic Director) joined ACT in 2001 as associate artistic director and was appointed artistic director in 2003. His past productions at ACT include, Intimate Exchanges, First Class, The Pillowman, Mitzi's Abortion, The Underpants, Vincent in Brixton, Bach at Leipzig, Black Coffee, Alki, A Moon for the Misbegotten, and Fuddy Meers. Elsewhere he has directed Things Being What They Are and Art at Seattle Repertory Theatre, as well as productions at The Empty Space, Intiman Theatre, and the University of Washington. Nationally, he has directed at Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, the Alley Theatre in Houston and the Ojai Playwrights Festival. He has appeared in leading and major roles at ACT, Seattle Repertory, Intiman and The Empty Space, as well as many theatres throughout the country. Beattie was the co-recipient of the Theatre Puget Sound Gregory A. Falls Sustained Achievement Award. This season he'll also direct the world premiere of Steven Dietz's play Becky'sNew Car.

Advanced Acting
with Renata Friedman
Monologue Intensive for Advanced Students

     Renata, a Port Townsend native, is a professional actor dividing her time between New York & Seattle.  Credits include the 16-character solo play The K of D ,Vincent in Brixton, & the title role in Eurydice (at ACT in Seattle), Hamlet, Jason & the Golden Fleece (at the Seattle Children's Theatre), A Midsummer Night's Dream (in New York), & Off-Broadway in The Importance of Being Earnest. Renata graduated with honors from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

Circus Arts
Sundays 1-4 pm
     In this “open gym” workshop, students (9+ yrs.) learn trapeze, aerial silks, juggling, magic, tumbling, tightrope, clowning, unicycling, stilt walking, & physical comedy.
Tuition: Drop-in/$20, 8 - class punch card/$135
